"The Most Beautiful Website"

Ernest Hemingway said, “All of American literature began with Huck Finn.” Papa was, of course, tipping his hat to Mark Twain. In researching a bit more about Twain I found this, one of the most beautiful websites I've ever seen.

The site is for a PBS documentary on Twain's life by Ken "The Civil War" Burns. Twain set the tone for America as it was emerging as a great nation and wrote the first Great American Novel. I wonder what he would think of America now?

Mark Twain was born Samuel Langhorne Clemens in Florida, Missouri about two hours from Kansas City. His pseudonym was from a well known call of riverboat men sounding the river in shallow places. He was a journalist, a riverboat captain, a printer, a soldier for about two weeks, and did another dozen jobs between those. He would be poor, then wealthy three times and - this is what I enjoy most - he was 41 years old when he published Tom Sawyer. Somehow that makes me feel a little better. :)

It's a nice site, but the most beautiful? Depends on the style you like, I guess. I like this:
