I used to be the Store Signage Manager for Office Depot Corporation. While I was in charge of creating the graphics, printing, and distribution of signage to all 800 stores, the challenging part was wayfinding — letting customers know where they were, how to get somewhere and if they had arrived. That real-world navigation training translated directly to Web navigation. I still use those lessons today.
